There is nothing like a good performance to feed the soul. Visitors at Lakeland District can enjoy a show or two while in the area thanks to the Theatre by the Lake. Located by the Lakeside, it will not only feed the soul with beautiful productions but with splendid views as well. It faces Derwentwater, Borrowdale and the Western Fells too.
This year round production and presenting theater started out in 1999 and has since put 5,000 productions on the stage. Each year they put on six plays during the summer season, a major Christmas production and another production during the spring.
Aside from these major productions they also have opera, comedy, music and drama together with four brilliant festivals which visitors can enjoy during their visits. It has a 400 seat main house with a newly extended 100 seat studio.
A coffee shop, bars, gallery spaces, meeting rooms and a rehearsal room complete the building.
