Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre
A visit to Lake District National Park would not be the same without a trip to the Brockhole National Park Visitor Centre. Set on 30 acres of land between Ambleside and Windermere, the Visitor Centre is a top attraction. Exhibits, water sports, adventure play, gardens, shopping, food and events can all be found here. Brockhole offers an exciting learning experience for its guests through the exhibits inside the house. Find out about Lake District’s history and get a glimpse of what things look like from the top. Get high tech and play some of the touch screen games where guests can create their own Beast of Bowness and much more. Film and slide shows also let guests find out more about Lake District and inform them of upcoming events for the year. Aside from these exhibits visitors can enjoy shopping and dining as well. Children can have fun in the soft play area too.
Outside, guests are sure to be kept busy for hours thanks to the amazing natural attractions. Lawns, gardens, shorelines and woods can all be found in this National Park. Whether you are exploring the 10 acres of formal gardens or the 20 acres of meadows and woods, a variety of flora and fauna can be seen. These magnificent outdoor areas also make for excellent picnic spots. Those who want to enjoy the waters may do so kayaking, sailing or through other water sports. These various activities may be enjoyed for as low as £12 per person.
The younger ones are sure to have fun outdoors as well thanks to the Adventure Playground where they can swing, slide, zip, climb and so much more. Other activities like Crazy Golf and trampolines can be enjoyed for a small price. Aside from all these the Brockhole visitor Centre is also equipped with a number of facilities like toilets, baby changing areas, platforms and automatic entrances for the convenience of guests.
Visitors can come to Brockhole anytime since it is open all year round except on Christmas day. During the months of March to October the house, café and shop are open from 10 am to 5 pm. From November onwards these are open from 10 am to 4 pm. The gardens and adventure play area are open from 8 am to 6 pm.
